HashiCorp started in a dorm room
Did you know HashiCorp began as a college dorm side project?
· Mitchell Hashimoto · 26-sec read
Mitchell Hashimoto started building Vagrant in his college dorm room in 2010 to solve a problem he had. For about three years it was a side project that got 2-4 hours a day of his free time. In November 2012 he founded HashiCorp to work on Vagrant full time, promising it would stay open source. The company went on to build Terraform, Vault, Consul and Nomad.
